Welcome, readers! If you are here, then you are looking for something different. You are not the same person as you were yesterday. You want stories that you cannot find in the usual way. You’ve come to the right place.
I am Yulia Yu. Sakurazawa. A writer of LGBTQ+ novels, not because I want to be a part of a community, but because I do not know any other thing.
I write what I experience. My characters are a reflection of me. I know that when you read what I write, you see a little bit of yourself there.
My latest novel, Ctrl+Alt+Quit, is probably my most personal yet. It’s the story of Kohei Nanata, a guy living a normal office worker life, until he gets sucked into a world of Pokemon GO. But, then the world changed, and he changed with it.
I started with a story about a guy losing everything, but then? I lost my own ground, too.
I have never written a book that has that many layers before. Identity? That is a word that we use every day. But, I can tell you that you don’t understand yourself, and you will never understand what people see you from the outside. But, it doesn’t matter. Your body, is just a body. Your mind? That is a different thing. It will make you who you are. And people will love you, for who you are.
This story will take you to a new world. It will make you question everything. If your life is not what you want it to be, you have to find a way to change that. Like I did. I changed, and I had no turning back. So, read my book, and see what you can find out about yourself.
There’s a lot of humor. Twisted, dark, and raw. But also, that’s how the real world is, right? I’m not afraid to be honest. I’m a monster, I’m a woman, I’m a writer, I’m a mom, and this is just the beginning.
This book will make you laugh, cry, and hopefully, it’ll make you think about all the codes and traps that society has set up for us. It might not be a happy tale. But it is honest.
So, come along. And please, share your opinion with me! I really want to hear it.
